Body of missing man in Santubong found

KUCHING, Jan 9: The body of a 59-year old man, who was reported missing after delivering a boat from Santubong to Lundu, was found in Kampung Trombol beach, early this morning.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre in a statement today, the find ended a six-day search and rescue (SAR) operation at 10 am today.

“The body of Samsudin Beden, was found at 6.20 am by the local folks at the beach area near Kampung Trombol by the local folks,” it said.

The deceased was reported to be missing on Jan 3, 2021, after the victim failed to return home and could not be contacted when delivering a boat to Lundu.

Following that, a joint SAR operation was launched by the Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), together with the assistance from the Bomba and the local villagers, which covers areas from Santubong and Lundu waters. –DayakDaily.
