SIBU, Aug 31: The body of a 22-year-old man with a mental disorder, who had fallen into the river at Sibu Esplanade, has been found and recovered.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak, the victim’s body was located at 10.17am today feive metres away from the spot where he was reported missing after the incident.
Today marked the third day of the search and rescue operation which was led by a team of firefighters from Sibu Central Station.
The body of the deceased was transported to the Sibu River Board jetty.
In attendance were family members who identified the body before the victim was handed over to the police for the further necessary procedures.
Collaborating in the operation were several other agencies, including the marine police, police, and the Civil Defence Force. — DayakDaily
