The RM137.7 million project, spanning 318 metres, is expected to ease traffic congestion in Bintulu’s commercial centre once completed. It also involves upgrading works along Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Johari Sunam, and access to SMK Bintulu.

Speaking at a press conference, Cassidy emphasised that new monitoring measures will be implemented, including the installation of CCTV at the site and monthly drone monitoring, to ensure timely delivery of the project.

“JKR Sarawak will continue to find the best solutions to ensure there are no sick projects under the department’s supervision,” he stressed.

Funded under the federal government allocation, the flyover is anticipated to provide smoother traffic flow and better connectivity in the town centre. — DayakDaily
