BINTULU, Aug 6: Progress on the Bintulu Integrated Administration Centre (IAC) project in Jepak has reached 68.88 per cent and is expected to be completed by the end of next March.

In a TVS news report today, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that once completed, the building will centralise government agencies in one building to facilitate service delivery to the public.

“I am satisfied with the physical progress of this project, which will further motivate government agencies here.

“Bintulu is fortunate to have a new building which will become an iconic landmark in Jepak,” he said to reporters during a visit to the project site today.

He added that the Public Works Department (JKR) Bintulu Division had been asked to closely monitor the project to ensure it could be completed by the scheduled date.

“With good weather and sufficient workforce and materials, there is no reason for the project to experience delays,” said Uggah, who also helms the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak (MIPD).

Minister in the Premier’s Department, Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai; MIPD deputy minister, Datuk Aidel Lariwoo; MIPD permanent secretary, Datuk Chiew Chee Yau; and Sarawak JKR director, Dr Cassidy Morris, were also present during the site visit. — DayakDaily
