Bintangor Riverfront among 6 major RADDA projects to boost Meradong’s devt

KUCHING, Oct 10: The Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) Steering Committee recently convened at the Meradong District Office in Bintangor to discuss six key development projects aimed at boosting infrastructure and economic growth in the Meradong area.

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) news report, Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing stated that the projects are part of RADDA’s strategic planning to accelerate development within the Meradong constituency.

Among the six major projects highlighted during the meeting were the construction of the Bintangor Riverfront, enhancement of the Bintangor Recreational Park, upgrading of the Bintangor town reticulation system, the proposed trunk main pipe from Jalan Kelupu to Tulai Booster Station, construction of a new road from Jalan Kilang to Jalan Janting, and the building of a two-storey multipurpose hall in Meradong.

Ding emphasised the importance of swift implementation of the projects, urging all implementing agencies to adopt a proactive approach to ensure that the developments are completed as soon as possible for the benefit of the local community.

The meeting was attended by RADDA special administrative officer Kelana Kipli, acting Meradong District Officer Thomas Geoffrey Kendawang, Sarikei Rural Water Supply Department engineer Chieng Ngih Wei, Meradong and Julau District Council (MDMJ) secretary Lau Chi Sing, as well as representatives from the Public Works Department (JKR) and the Sarikei Land and Survey Department. — DayakDaily
