‘Beting Maro water supply upgrading works 83% completed’

KUCHING, May 2: Upgrading of the water supply project for Beting Maro has achieved physical progress of 83 per cent.

In replying to Razaili Gapor (GPS-Beting Maro), Assistant Minister of Water Supply Datuk Liwan Lagang said the implementation of clean water supply project for Kampung Batang Maro in Kabong through site investigation, supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, maintenance and refurbishment of the existing 0.01MLD (10,000 L / D) package desalination plant system and other related works was currently under testing and commissioning.


“In addition, the rural water supply project for Sessang, Lubok Nibong, Perepat and its surrounding areas were handed over on April 2, 2019. This project includes pipeline construction from Sessang area to Lubok Nibong, Kg. Kaba, Kg Perpat, Kg Batang Maro and Kg Paloh,” Liwan said.

As for the water supply to Rh Kam and Rh Duat, Liwan said the delivery and installation of 160mm pipes and other associated work to Rh Duat and Rh Kam Blok Kelilie Pusa were completed on March 25 this year.

On electricity supplies, he added that Beting Maro was provided with electric facilities via 11kV submarine cable from Kabong.

In addition, Sesco would implement additional 33kV overhead line, which is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2020. — DayakDaily
