SERIAN, March 7: Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) has contributed 545 books to the “Blessed Rural Children with Books and Soft Toys” initiative, which is part of DayakDaily’s D’Drift annual event.
This programme is also in partnership with Pertubuhan Wartawan Bebas Kuching (Pewarta).
This year marked the fourth year of “Blessed Rural Children with Books and Soft Toys” programme where a total of 1,052 books, 10 large bags of soft toys, and two big boxes of joy were handed over to the Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD) Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who is also Tarat assemblyman.
BESarawak has supported DayakDaily’s “Blessed Rural Children with Books and Soft Toys” programme since 2022 under the “Books Build Legacy”, which is BESarawak’s corporate social responsibility programme aimed at promoting reading and literacy, particularly in rural areas.
“This donation supports D’Drift’s mission to enhance knowledge-sharing and accessibility to books across Sarawak’s communities.
“Today’s donation marks the end of ‘Books Build Legacy’, and we are extremely proud to have collaborated with DayakDaily’s D’Drift Programme since 2022.
“The partnership between us and DayakDaily has been truly impactful, especially in demonstrating the power of cross-sector collaboration.
“We sincerely thank the DayakDaily team and their partners for ensuring our donations reached communities far and wide. We hope to be part of more meaningful community initiatives in the future,” said BESarawak CEO Amelia Roziman, who could not stressed enough on the importance of education during the handing over ceremony of the books held at Tapah Service Centre, today.
She also revealed that 545 books came from Grab Malaysia during its Outer Cities Offsite 2024 incentive trip to Kuching in November 2024.
“BESarawak remains committed to driving positive impact through business events and corporate social responsibility efforts,” said Amelia. — DayakDaily
