KUCHING, Feb 27: A 28-year old unemployed man was arrested by the police in Bau for drug possession, yesterday.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon in a statement today said the arrest was made by Bau district police (IPD Bau) Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) personnel near a house compound in Kampung Bobak, at 11.30 am, after the suspect was seen behaving suspiciously.
“During an inspection, the suspect handed over a black-coloured bag to the police, and inside the bag, the police found one transparent plastic packet believed to be containing Syabu with an estimated weight of 1 gram, including three Erimin 5 pills with an estimated weight of 0.85 gram,” he said.
Poge noted both illegal items were seized by the police and the suspect were brought to the NCID office in IPD Bau for further action.
According to Poge an initial urine test conducted revealed that the suspect was positive for Methamphetamine and a background check showed the suspect has no previous crimes record.
“A remand order will apply for the suspect today (Feb 27) and the case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs act 1952,” he added. –DayakDaily.
