KUCHING, Dec 5: The Bau Christmas Parade 2024 is set to return this year, continuing the tradition of uniting churches from the Bau District, including Anglican, Borneo Evangelical Mission (SIB), Catholic, and Methodist congregations.
The parade will illuminate the streets of Bau on Dec 8, from 6pm to 9.30pm, and everyone is invited to join in the celebrations.
In a news report by TVS, organising chairman Mark Jong Yhi Yang highlighted that the parade aims to foster a stronger sense of brotherhood among participants.
“The parade will kick off from the Methodist Church Petra Bau parking lot, make a stop at the Christmas tree site, and conclude at Lobuh Bau.
“Each church will contribute two decorated floats to enhance the performances,” he stated in a press release today.
This year, the event also features a special addition organised by the Bau District Council—a symbolic lighting ceremony of the Christmas tree in Bau’s town centre.
