MIRI, Sept 25: The Sessions Court here has set Oct 22 for the further mention of a case involving a 29-year-old local man accused of murdering an Indonesian national.
The accused, Fancy Jugo, was produced in the Miri Sessions Court on Wednesday (Sept 25) before Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz.
No plea was taken from the accused, who was not represented by counsel.
According to the charge sheet, Fancy is accused of murdering 40-year-old Gafur, an Indonesian man, at a private oil palm estate in Sebubok, Ulu Niah, Miri, between 8am and 10am on July 29, 2024.
Gafur was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds to his forehead, eye, neck, and stomach.
Fancy has been charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which provides the death penalty upon conviction.
The case investigation officer, ASP Barry Bunyak, was also present during the court proceedings. — DayakDaily
