KUCHING, Nov 26: Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato Lo Khere Chiang lodges a respectful appeal in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) sitting, urging the government to address an alleged oversight in the recent one-off promotion exercise affecting civil servants in the Profession and Management (P&M) service track.

Debating on the Sarawak Budget 2026, Lo highlighted the concerns of officers, specifically those at Grade 52 / Grade 13, who felt that they were unfairly excluded from the promotion to Grade 54 / Grade 14.

Lo stressed that these officers have reportedly met all the stipulated criteria for advancement.

“They have expressed concern that they were not included in the recent one-off promotion exercise to Grade 54 / Grade 14, despite fulfilling the required service duration, performance standards, skills assessments, and being part of the same structured progression pathway from Grade 41 to 54,” he said during the DUS sitting today.

The appeal, he said, is made in respect on behalf of his constituents and others in similar circumstances, seeking to uphold fairness, consistency, and continued encouragement for dedicated civil servants. — DayakDaily
