KUCHING, Oct 20: A Batu Kawa man Pui Swee Fatt 66, is seeking public’s help in finding his two sisters whom he had been separated from for about 30 years.
Born to Pui Miao and Lee Nam Fa, Swee Fatt had not seen his sisters Mary and Yu Mei ever since he left Kuching for Alor Setar to seek greener pastures.
After spending most of his adulthood working and living in Alor Setar for some 30 years, Swee Fatt decided to return to Kuching to look for his long lost siblings.
Without any means of contacting his siblings, he decided to seek the assistance of Democratic Action Party (DAP).
DAP Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen revealed that the Pui family, consisting of one brother Jin Fatt who had passed away and two sisters Mary and Yu Mei, lived a simple life.
He said the spelling of the names of Swee Fatt’s family members may not be correct as he cannot remember their actual spelling.
“They grew up in Batu Kawa and attended Chung Hua Batu Kawa primary school and after completing his Primary Six education, Swee Fatt ended up helping out at his father’s sand supply business.” he told a press conference at DAP headquarters here today.
Chong added that with the help of some good Samaritans, Swee Fatt is now staying at a temporary wooden shelter at Batu Kawah while trying to reconnect with his sisters.
“The last contact Swee Fatt had with his sister Mary was more than five years ago. His last recollection was that she stayed within the vicinity of Tabuan Jaya but is unable to provide further information about her and her place of stay,” he explained.
Chong urged members of the public with any information on Swee Fatt’s siblings to contact Michael Kong at 013-8199191 or DAP Sarawak’s headquarters at 082-335531. — DayakDaily.
