KUCHING, Sept 21: Batik Air is set to officially launch daily flights between Bintulu and Kuala Lumpur starting in November.

Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (Motac) Dato Sri Tiong King Sing said the daily flights not only provide more options for travellers but also offer greater convenience for tourists and boost economic activities between the two regions.

“Batik Air CEO Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy also announced that the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has approved this route, and tickets are now on sale, allowing eager passengers to book their seats for the inaugural flights,” said Tiong in a statement today.

Tiong also conveyed his gratitude to Batik Air for its active cooperation and support of Motac’s efforts to promote Sarawak’s tourism industry.

“In July, our ministry has met with Batik Air’s management to discuss increasing the flight frequency to Bintulu. During the meeting, we also explored the possibility of opening routes such as Johor Bahru-Bintulu and Kuala Lumpur-Bintulu.

“With the launch of this daily flight, this vision has now become a reality. Much appreciated,” he added. — DayakDaily
