“Today, the contractor announced a ‘milestone’, in which that on Jan 15 next year, the bridge connection works will be carried out, and by May 15, we hope to open the bridge ahead of schedule.

“This is a very positive development. They are carrying out their duties excellently, and we are confident in the contractor’s capabilities. The weather has also been favourable, so we believe the construction schedule can be achieved as planned,” he told the media after inspecting the project site today.

Uggah added that the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) will continue to closely monitor the project’s progress to ensure any issues that arise can be addressed promptly, so that construction stays on track.

Meanwhile, he also reported that the Sebuyau–Lingga Highway construction project is currently 76 per cent complete.

The Batang Lupar Bridge Project, with a cost of RM848.7 million, is one of Sarawak’s iconic infrastructure projects. It will connect Sebuyau and Triso, and is set to become a new landmark for the State’s development.
