KUCHING, Nov 13: Bario Health Clinic yesterday (Nov 12) received two units of medical equipment worth RM78,500 contributed through the initiative of Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala.
According to a press release issued by Miri Divisional Health Office, the contribution included one defibrillator machine valued at RM23,500 and one ultrasound machine worth RM55,000 to support more efficient and effective health promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation services at the clinic.
“The defibrillator is used in emergency treatment and in managing cardiovascular conditions, while the ultrasound machine is used in antenatal care to ensure the safety of babies in the womb,” the Office wrote.
Gerawat, who is also Mulu assemblyman, expressed hope that the Bario community would fully utilise the newly contributed equipment to enhance healthcare services in the area.
Also present at the handover ceremony were Miri Divisional Health Officer Dr P. Raviwharmman Packierisamy, Miri Divisional Head of Family Medicine Specialists Dr Maurice Steve Utap, and staff of Bario Health Clinic. — DayakDaily
