KUCHING, June 10: A new Covid-19 cluster dubbed the Bali Pie Cluster has been declared after two longhouses under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in Subis recorded 62 positive cases as of today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said this community cluster stemmed from close social interactions among residents of longhouses at Sungai Bakas, Sibuti.

“A total of 243 individuals were screened where 62 cases tested positive for Covid-19 including the index case and 181 cases were negative,” said the committee in a statement on Covid-19 update today.

SDMC also assured that all positive cases were admitted to either the Miri Hospital, Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) at Tudan health clinic or the Miri Low-Risk Treatment and Quarantine Centre (PKRC) for isolation and treatment purposes.

Other than the Bali Pie Cluster, Sarawak reported another new Covid-19 cluster, dubbed the Jalan Samarakan Cluster involving yet another longhouse under EMCO in Tatau.

As of today, there are 77 active clusters in the entire State with 10 of them registering an increase of 141 new cases today. — DayakDaily
