KUCHING, Oct 23: The YB Snowdan Lawan Trophy Badminton Open 2017 championship is open for registration.
The three-day event will be held from Nov 24-26 at Sentosa Sports Centre, Mile 7. The scheduled time slots are 7pm-11pm (Nov 24) and 8.30am-11pm (Nov 25-26).
It is open to Sarawakians of all races and religious beliefs, and is divided into three categories: Men’s Open, Women’s Open and Men’s Veteran (45-years-old and above).
Badminton players who have played for Sukma, SEA Games, World Championships, Commonwealth, Thomas/Uber Cup, and the Olympics are not allowed to compete.
One team will have a maximum of 10 players including the manager. Participation is limited to 28 teams only.
Team entry fee is RM300 and the completed registration form must be submitted before Nov 20. Payment may be made in cash or through bank-in to SERABAN, Maybank 561257100970.
A briefing and voting will be held at 2.30pm on Nov 24 at MD Stutong office, Tabuan.
A total of RM7,000 in prize money as well as trophies and medals will be up for grabs. Certificates of participation will also be given.
The shuttlecocks used will be Yang Yang 300B (77) , while the competition will use the rally point system (3 x 21).
