KUCHING, June 17: Search and rescue (SAR) efforts to locate Rudy Ranggau, 36, who went missing while frog hunting near Sungai Asau and Sungai Puyu behind Rumah Panjang Puyu in Sebauh, have been hampered by bad weather.
According to Operation Commander Muhammad Ismadi Mohamat Pendi, the SAR operation could not proceed in the morning due to heavy rain at the scene, in accordance with police instructions, TVS reported.
“Search efforts began at 2pm using the L.A.S.T (Follow The Stream) method, covering a distance of 1.1 kilometres from the Incident Control Post (PKTK) into the forest and along the riverbank, but the victim has yet to be found.
“The operation was called off at 4.40pm due to rain and poor visibility,” he said in a statement today.
The SAR operation is scheduled to resume today.
