KUCHING, Apr 17: Approved B40 recipients for Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) yet to receive the aid can get their cash payments via Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches from Apr 17 until Dec 31, 2020.
Ministry of Finance (MOF), informed this in a statement today, as a small number of approved B40 recipients have yet to receive their BPN payments as they either did not have bank accounts or the payment had not been credited into their accounts.
The federal government has distributed BPN aid to 6.5 million recipients in the B40 low-income group, involving payment of more than RM4.8 billion as of Apr 17.
Recipients are advised to bring along their identity cards and observe social distancing as well as comply with health and safety instructions by the police and People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) personnel on duty when visiting the BSN branches.
BPN is an initiative by the federal government under the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package which aims to alleviate the financial burden of the B40 community, especially with the extension of the Movement Control Order (MCO) until Apr 28. —DayakDaily
