Azerbaijani ambassador to honour Mutang’s legacy by continuing collaborative endeavours

MIRI, May 13: Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Malaysia, Irfan Davudov, conveyed heartfelt condolences on the passing of Senate president Datuk Mutang Tagal.

Expressing utmost respect, Davudov reminisced about their fruitful interactions, highlighting Mutang’s impactful visit to Azerbaijan earlier in April.

Reflecting on their initial encounter to coordinate Mutang’s first official visit to Azerbaijan, Davudov recalled the success of the diplomatic mission.

He underscored the significance of organising meetings with Azerbaijan’s prime minister and facilitating Mutang’s engagements at key World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue institutions, including the ALAT Free Economic Zone and the Baku International Sea Port.

Moreover, Davudov commended Mutang’s pivotal address at Azerbaijan’s Parliament and his insightful contribution to a forum on intercultural dialogue in Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital.

Emphasising Mutang’s substantial role in advancing bilateral relations, Davudov affirmed his commitment to honouring Mutang’s legacy by continuing their collaborative endeavours.

In honouring Mutang’s memory, Davudov reiterated the enduring partnership between Azerbaijan and Malaysia, poised to flourish further through the continuation of Mutang’s visionary initiatives.

The late Mutang’s official visit to Azerbaijan on April 29 was cut short following a health issue, in which he was brought back to Malaysia for treatment.

Mutang passed away at 11.46am after being hospitalised at the National Heart Institute Kuala Lumpur (IJN) on May 10. — DayakDaily
