SIBU, Dec 10: Five members of Angkatan Warisan Anak Sarawak (Awas) have filed a report at the Central Police Station over a photo which they claimed has slandered Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for N55 Nangka, Dr Annuar Rapaee.
Awas secretary-general Mohamad Junaidi Sambang, told reporters that the photo carried a slanderous statement implicating Dr Annuar.
“The motive of the person behind these is to make the people hate Dr Annuar. We are making a police report as we want the police to take action against those responsible,” he said.
Mohamad Junaidi clarified that there is no basis in the accusations as Dr Annuar, who is the two-term assemblyman for the area, had brought changes and development to Nangka.
“His track record is shown in his 2016-2021 report card which also shows that he has been taking care of the welfare of the people,” he added.
Mohamad Junaidi urged those responsible to stop such acts. He said they should meet Dr Annuar if they want to know the real facts. — DayakDaily
