Award will motivate me to work harder: Sim

KUCHING, Oct 10: Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Development (Sheda) Kuching Branch chairman Sim Kiang Chiok, who is conferred Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS) which carried the title Dato, says he feels motivated to work even harder for Sarawak.

Sim was honoured with the award in conjunction with the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud’s 84th birthday at the Lapau of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex here today.

“This award has further boosted my motivation to contribute and serve all. (I’m) Ready to serve and to serve all.

“I am especially grateful and thankful to TYT Tun Taib, Chief Minister (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) and the Sarawak government for giving me the award.

“The award recognises my contribution to property development in Sarawak, as well as my political works to unite and improve the socio-economy of our society and my contribution through various communities and clan associations,” he said.

He hopes all award recipients will be motivated to work hard for Sarawak and its people.

Sim also expressed thanks to families, friends, comrades and supporters who have been his pillar of strength to carry on contributing for the betterment of society.

“On this special day with a special date 10.10.2020, I am once again thankful and humbled for the recognition.

“I wish Tun Taib a happy birthday and long live Tun,” he extend best wished to the Head of State.
A total of 1,194 individuals were conferred with state awards, honours and medals in conjunction with the Head of State’s birthday this year.

Of the total, 35 received their respective awards, honours and medals at the investiture ceremony today.

Three outstanding individuals headed the list of recipients were bestowed the Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang (DA) which carries the Datuk Amar title.

They were Minister of Education Science and Technological Research Datuk Seri Michael Manyin Jawong, Chief Secretary to the federal government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali and Taib’s younger brother and Stakan assemblyman Datuk Seri Mohammad Ali Mahmud. —DayakDaily
