KUCHING, Feb 21: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan wants the Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development staff to work efficiently and be result-oriented in providing their service.

He said this was particularly important when dealing with the stakeholders, especially investors, businesses, as well as the public.

“I am satisfied with the ministry’s achievement of 98 per cent customer satisfaction given by our stakeholders and Five Star Rating for Treasury Inspectorate by the state Treasury Department,” he said during a Chinese New Year gathering at the ministry’s office here yesterday.

He told those present that this year would be a busy year for the ministry after being allocated RM116.65 million by the state government for various development projects under the ministry.

“We will continue to focus on the development of industrial estates and entrepreneur avenues with the RM99.77 million allocated for these.

“We have also been allocated RM9.7 million to organise small and medium entrepreneurship development programmes, and the balance to be used for promotional investment and management,” he said.

Awang Tengah added that the ministry would also be hard at work to attract more local and foreign investors.

Also present at the Chinese New Year gathering were Assistant Minister for Entrepreneur and SME Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais and the ministry’s permanent secretary, Datu Liaw Soon Eng. — DayakDaily
