KUCHING, March 11: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan today dismissed a rumour that he is to be appointed the president of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).

Awang Tengah, through his personal assistant, responded to reporters that he “does not wish to respond to wild and baseless rumours circulated in the Whatsapp group.

“This is done by naughty people with bad intention to create a rift in Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

“Rubbish list,” said Awang Tengah.

He was commenting on a list that has gone viral through WhatsApp and social media. The list purportedly showed a proposed PSB council lineup.

Besides Awang Tengah, the names of several of his colleagues in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) were also in the list, including Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur and Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais and Assistant Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datu Len Talif Salleh.

The name of former Padungan assemblyman-cum-Sarawak Association for People’s Aspirations (SAPA) president Dominique Ng is also in the list. — DayakDaily
