MIRI, 14 Dec: Regardless of the sentiment played up by the opposition against Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), it is undeniable that the people’s support for the party remains strong, says PBB senior vice-president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Hasan in Lambir today.

Awang Tengah was responding to a question posed by local media concerning the Democratic Action Party (DAP)’s assertion that a vote for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is an endorsement for GPS’ alliance with Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (Pas) and United Malays National Organisation (Umno).

“God willing, we will win in this 12th Sarawak Election,” he said after officiating at the ‘Kongsi Fakta’ (Fact-sharing) programme for Lambir constituency at Dewan Masjid Darul Hana, Kampung Tunku Abdul Rahman Lambir.

Awang Tengah said, based on his observations during his campaigning, the support from the voters for GPS is comprehensive.

He reminded voters to rally their undivided support behind GPS candidates to ensure continuity in development.

“Do not come at the last minute. Come to the polling centre early to cast your vote, because there are many Covid-19 standard operating procedures that you have to adhere to upon arrival at the centre,” he said.

Awang Tengah also urged voters to cast their votes wisely and choose a stable government for a better Sarawak.

Also present at the programme were PBB permanent chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, PBB’s N71 Bekenu candidate Datuk Rosey Yunus and PBB’s N72 Lambir candidate Dr Ripin Lamat. — DayakDaily
