KUCHING, Nov 14: Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh questions what has happened to Sarawak football scene.

Miro said during the ‘Ngap Sayot’ era, Sarawak football was a sport that united Sarawakians regardless of their background and race, that fill the stadium to its full capacity every time there was a game.

“We can see that football scene is Sarawak is an important place for unity and to uplift our patriotic spirit in supporting our own team.

“However, in the last few years, enthusiasm for the local football scene has gone down as if there was no way back,” he said.

He called for involvement of the relevant authorities to get Sarawak football back to its glory days.

“If Sarawak Football Association (SFA) cannot do it, then let Kuching FA do it since the team has better chances in representing Sarawak.

“We can change Kuching FA name to Sarawak United, including changing the management to those who are really committed for this purpose,” he added. — DayakDaily
