Austria keen to invest, share technology with S’wak

KUCHING, May 29: Austria is interested in investing and sharing technology with Sarawak.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, this was disclosed by Austrian ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Andreas Launer during a courtesy visit to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the latter’s office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

Andreas said his side has outlined the potential for cooperation in various sectors and also hoped to establish long-term cooperation with Sarawak.


“We have the advantage in term of technologies such as sustainable energy, green technology, public transport, tourism, medicine and many others.

“Therefore, we would like to offer our full support to the Sarawak government in all the necessary areas and hope that it will benefit Sarawak in the form of future investment and economic development,” he told reporters when met after the visit.

He added that the close cooperation between Austria and Sarawak will lead to new business opportunities that are mutually beneficial for both parties. — DayakDaily
