KUCHING, Sept 26: Hock Seng Lee (HSL) is proud to present At Adau, one of Sarawak’s best and most popular bands, live at La Promenade Mall on Saturday, Oct 1, 2022.
The concert which will start at 8pm, will be a ticketed event held under a marquee, which is to be separated from the mall’s ongoing Oktoberfest celebration.
“Our performance is unlike any other that we have had. We’ve planned a special concert for this Oktoberfest.
“We’ll have a special surprise in store for our fans who will be attending this concert,” one of At Adau’s founding members, Jackson Lian Ngau, also known as Lian, said today at a press conference held at La Promenade Mall here.
At Adau will perform a full set at La Promenade. It is one of the band’s only two full concerts this month.
After the La Promenade show, the band will perform their ‘Chimera Odyssey’ concept concert featuring music, animation, and short film elements at the Dewan Suarah (Civic Centre) Kuching.
“The concept concert ‘Chimera Odyssey’ allows us to demonstrate our transition from a four-piece band to a seven-piece band, so it is a different concert than the one we will perform at La Promenade.
“We will have new songs for ‘Chimera Odyssey’, and the La Promenade concert will be special for us because we will reveal some of our new songs from our upcoming album,” Lian explained.
He went on to say that for each concert, the band will choreograph it to fit the event, and for this upcoming concert, they tried to incorporate the Oktoberfest vibe.
“Fans will be able to see, hear, and feel how we fuse Borneo style with Oktoberfest,” he added.
Lian also disclosed that after the performances in Kuching, they will have a gig in Kuala Lumpur in October, and resume their gigs in December until May 2023.
“In January, we will tour India and also perform at a music festival in Arizona; this will be our first time performing in the United States,” he mentioned.
Meanwhile, in a press release, HSL digital marketing and corporate communications manager Sophia Ong noted that as a community mall, it brought them great joy to feature At Adau, a seven-piece band that is more-or-less the yearly headliner at the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF).
“We felt incredibly honoured when At Adau agreed to play at our mall as the feature band of our very first Oktoberfest.
“For La Promenade, At Adau is playing a straightforward rock show. We requested them to rock our mall, and they said yes. I genuinely cannot wait.”
At Adau was founded in 2014 by Lian and Meldrick Bob, along with Luke Wrender, Ezra Tekola, Alfanso ‘Fonso’ McKenzie, Cedric ‘C-Dik’ Riseng, and their new member Cyril Clement.

Tickets are priced from RM69 to RM89 each.
HSL is hosting the Oktoberfest at La Promenade Mall from Sept 16 to Oct 9. It is a community-focused event with free 3km and 6km runs, weekend bazaars, and neighbourhood recycling days, all anchored by a weekly food and beverage festival on Thursdays through Sundays. — DayakDaily
