“We have spoken to the family to find out what else is needed. Because we have certain funds that could help them,” Nancy told members of the press after visiting the bereaved family at their house in Kampung Tabuan Dani today.

“We’ve also spoken to the family on welfare support for the young children because most of them are still in school,” she added.

Wan Khairul Nizam is survived by his wife Jamilah Hassan (42 years old), and five young children aged between 18 to 5.

The Ministry also offered counselling sessions for the family, if needed.

“We will provide counselling sessions for the family because this is very necessary.

“Sometimes we don’t feel like we need anything. But when we talk to someone, we realise that we need the help,” she said.

During the visit, Nancy handed over donations and moral support to the family, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment in standing by its people in moments of hardship and grief.
