Asajaya reverts to Covid-19 green zone, 27 districts with red zone statuses

KUCHING, May 15: Asajaya district returned as the green zone status of Covid-19 today, while other districts’ statuses in the State remain unchanged.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, said Asajaya recorded zero new cases in the past two weeks, pushing it out from the yellow zone status and increasing the number of districts in the green zone status to three districts.

According to SDMC, a total of 27 districts continue with their red zone statuses, followed by nine districts with the yellow zone statuses and one district with orange status.

As of today, the 27 districts with the red zone statuses are namely Tatau, Tebedu, Betong, Pusa, Bau, Belaga, Sebauh, Sri Aman, Lundu, Pakan, Song, Bukit Mabong, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Sibu, as Julau is the only district with the orange zone status.

Lawas, Matu, Tanjung Manis, Simunjan, Marudi, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, and Limbang are the nine districts with the yellow zone statuses, while Asajaya, Kabong and Telang Usan are in green zone statuses.

On the same note, SDMC disclosed the Sarawak State Health Department (JKNS) has declared the end of Jepak Cluster in Bintulu today.

It also said a total of 82 clusters remain active in the state, with eight clusters recording 36 new cases, while 74 other clusters remain with zero new cases. — DayakDaily
