KUCHING, March 11: Students of Maahad Tahfiz Al-Fateh Asajaya Laut shared a memorable Ramadan evening with Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah during an Iftar Ukhuwah and Friendly Gathering Programme with villagers at Masjid Darul Ehsan in Kampung Asajaya Laut yesterday (March 10).
According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) news report, the programme brought together tahfiz students and local residents in a warm and harmonious atmosphere as they broke fast and strengthened community ties during the holy month of Ramadan.
Abdul Karim, who is also Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development as well as Asajaya assemblyman, spent time interacting with students of Maahad Tahfiz Al-Fateh Asajaya Laut.
He encouraged them to remain diligent in their Quranic studies and to uphold strong moral values as they grow into a knowledgeable and principled generation.
The gathering also reflected his approach of staying closely connected with the grassroots, particularly rural communities and religious education institutions.
Throughout the evening, Abdul Karim interacted casually with villagers, highlighting the close bond between leaders and the community.
The programme also underscored the Sarawak government’s continued commitment to supporting the development of religious education institutions while strengthening ties between leaders and the people at the grassroots level.
Also present were Asajaya District Officer Jerry Zannuddin Bidin, Samarahan Division Temenggong Chek Bujang, Asajaya Ulu Penghulu Dallan Man, Asajaya Laut Penghulu Teruna Mat, and Masjid Darul Ehsan chairman Sanusi Sapuan. — DayakDaily
