KUCHING, Feb 26: Development momentum at Arden City continues to strengthen as Ibraco Berhad advances construction and sales at the township, positioning it as Kota Samarahan’s first fully integrated urban development.

In a statement today, Ibraco said Arden City is designed to support Sarawak’s sustainable development vision by integrating residential, commercial, corporate, healthcare and leisure components within a single self-sustaining ecosystem.

The project is responding to growing demand for well-connected and future-ready communities driven by expansion in the healthcare and education sectors.

“Progress for Phase 1 remains on track. The Atrium, Arden City’s first commercial square, has been completed and is pending its Occupation Permit by early second quarter of this year.

“It comprises 39 three-storey shop units with both single and double frontage options,” it said.

The Atrium, Arden City’s first commercial square in Kota Samarahan, which has been completed and is pending its Occupation Permit by early second quarter this year.

Meanwhile, Aster Court, a 25-storey serviced apartment tower, is progressing steadily towards completion in the second quarter of next year, offering unit sizes ranging from 531 square feet to 1,195 square feet.

According to Ibraco, purchaser interest remains resilient due to Arden City’s strategic location within Kota Samarahan’s expanding medical and education corridor, as well as ongoing infrastructure upgrades in the area.

A key highlight of the development is its visibility and direct access to the upcoming Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) Blue Line.

“The Sarawak Heart Centre Station will be linked directly to Arden City through a covered pedestrian walkway, with both the station and this section of the Blue Line targeted for completion by December 2026, improving connectivity between Kota Samarahan and Kuching,” it added.

Connectivity will also be enhanced through the upgrading of the Kuching–Kota Samarahan Expressway and the new access road to Kuching International Airport.

Arden City is located close to major institutions such as Sarawak Heart Centre, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

One of the key growth drivers is the UNIMAS Teaching Hospital, scheduled for completion in November 2026.

The 300-bed facility will integrate teaching, learning and healthcare services, while its Phase 1 Prima Health Centre, completed in June 2024, is already operating as a daily healthcare hub.

UNIMAS’ planned Faculty of Law is also expected to further expand the township’s academic ecosystem, attracting more students and professionals to the area.

Adding to the long-term outlook is the Sarawak Cancer Centre (SCC), located opposite Arden City and targeted for completion before 2031, with construction expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026.

The SCC is envisioned as Malaysia’s largest full-fledged public cancer hospital, featuring about 310 beds within a gross floor area of over 154,000 square metres.

Once operational, the centre is expected to function as a comprehensive hub for cancer treatment, research and prevention, strengthening Sarawak’s specialised healthcare capacity.

Within Arden City itself, future hospitality and wellness components are planned to complement healthcare-led activities and lifestyle services.

The surrounding district has also been boosted by the launch of the Kota Samarahan Boulevard, a 1.4-kilometre social and recreational corridor. Modeled after Hyde Park, the more than 1,000-acre green space is set to be transformed into a large-scale public park, enhancing livability and community interaction.

With healthcare, education, transport and leisure elements converging, Arden City continues to strengthen its appeal to both owner-occupiers and investors seeking long-term value growth.

In conjunction with the festive season, Ibraco will host its Chap Goh Meh Promotion from Feb 28 to March 1, 2026, at all its sales galleries in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Petaling Jaya. The promotion will feature Arden City projects, including The Atrium and Aster Court.
