MELAKA, June 20: Apong syrup from Samarahan, songket from Gedong, ceramic products and accessories from Kuching, and rice and pepper from Sri Aman were among the Sarawak-made products put under the spotlight at the Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia (HPM) Carnival and the One District One Industry (SDSI) Showcase 2026 held in Melaka.
In a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the Sarawak Ministry of International Trade, Industry, and Investment (MINTRED) continues to support Sarawak entrepreneurs in bringing the State’s iconic products to the national market, introducing the uniqueness of local products to consumers in Peninsular Malaysia.
The participation forms part of MINTRED’s ongoing strategy to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), cooperatives and local industries by creating wider marketing opportunities at the national level.
The programme serves as an important platform to expand business networks, enhance product marketability, and create opportunities for strategic collaboration between Sarawak entrepreneurs and industry players from across the country.
MINTRED also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the development of MSME entrepreneurs, cooperatives, as well as local craft and agricultural industries to ensure they remain competitive and are able to penetrate wider domestic and international markets.
Apart from promoting local products, participation in programmes such as this also helps raise the profile of the Sarawak brand as a producer of high-quality products with strong commercial value and a distinctive identity. — DayakDaily
