KUCHING, Jan 6: The Asia Pacific Aerospace Conference and Exhibition (APACE) 2026, scheduled to take place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from Jan 26 to 29, will bring together global aerospace players to drive talent development, knowledge exchange and industry collaboration, benefitting Sarawakian students, professionals and the wider aviation and aerospace ecosystem.
According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said the four-day conference and exhibition will focus on building local capabilities in aerospace and aviation through conferences, exhibitions and technical sessions involving international experts and industry leaders.
“Sarawak’s ownership of its own airline, AirBorneo, reflects the State’s long-term commitment to developing home grown talent in areas such as avionics, aviation, aerospace engineering, satellite technology and related high value fields. This is our main focus at the initial stage,” he said during a press conference after paying a courtesy call on Premier Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Satria Pertiwi Complex in Petra Jaya today.
Sagah added that APACE 2026 is jointly organised by MEITD and ICATS University College, with support from Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) and Borneo Business Connect.
The event is expected to attract more than 3,000 visitors, over 1,000 delegates, more than 50 exhibitors and over 60 prominent speakers, featuring over 50 conference sessions. Participating organisations include the National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia, NACO Netherlands, Malaysian Space Agency, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and NOVASPACE France.
He also said the visiting delegation took the opportunity to invite the Premier to officiate the opening of APACE 2026.
