Another frontliner with Covid-19, bringing total tally to 180

KUCHING, Feb 5: One more medical personnel has been infected with Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases among healthcare workers to 180 so far this year.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, in a Covid-19 press statement today, revealed that the case was reported in a healthcare facility in Kuching.


Based from previous reports, there were 179 cumulative cases among healthcare providers as of yesterday (Feb 14).

On Feb 9, State Health director Dr Chin Zin Hing disclosed that 162 cases were from among the medical fraternity between January and Feb 8.

Four new cases reported on Feb 9 pushed the tally up to 166 and on the next day (Feb 10), there were three more medical personnel identified with Coronavirus.

The figures continued to increase daily from then on with four cases on Feb 11, one on Feb 12, four on Feb 13, and one more yesterday (Feb 14). —DayakDaily
