KUCHING, Dec 6: Sarawak United People’s Party Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief Wilfred Yap was impressed and satisfied with the professionalism of a power utility company in its decision to re-evaluate a piece of land it is using for a transmission tower.
In a meeting with a power utility company, Yap appealed for higher compensation for a man known as Tan, whose land is being used for the said transmission tower.
According to Tan, the valuation was higher and would be expiring on September 3, 2111, instead of year 2024. Tan added that the valuation of market value was short leased.
After hearing the appeal from Tan, the power utility company said it would approach Land and Survey Department for more advice and the land would be re-evaluated.
Yap will continue to follow up with Tan’s situation until it reaches a satisfactory resolution.
