Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development (KWKPK) Minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said this would affect a total of 213 preschools and 2,518 kindergartens in red zones across Sarawak.

“Following the announcement by Chief Minister today, all preschools and kindergartens in Covid-19 red zones will also be closed for 14 days effective April 20.

“For the record, as of April 19, there are a total of 2,795 kindergartens and 234 preschools that are registered in Sarawak while the closure in red zones involves 2,518 kingerdartens and 213 preschools,” she said in a statement today.

Adding on, Fatimah said preschools catering to children of frontliners will have to submit an application to operate and provide services only to children of frontliners.

“Their applications must be submitted to KWKPK. This is a service to support frontliners working in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
