KUCHING, Jan 27: Sape musician and songwriter Alena Murang will be launching a music video titled “Many Tomorrows” on Feb 3, a joint venture with the Society for Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Kuching (Scan) in conjunction with World Cancer Day this year.

According to Alena in a statement today, she was exposed to issues about cancer since she was young by her parents and from that, she grew to understand the plight and suffering of those who have it.

“I realise it is not easy for those cancer patients and their families to face this challenge. That is why, I could not refuse to cooperate with Scan.

“I am only a small contributor to the joint venture here. The group members, Scan, UICC, Zephyr dancers, members of the Kuching Hearing Impaired Association, and those who submitted supporting recordings and my team have made huge contributions.

“I believe the best product is the result of that close cooperation,” she said.

Alena also hoped “Many Tomorrows” would provide relief to cancer patients and attract more public awareness towards their struggles.

Alena wrote lyrics for the song, which is composed by Jonathan Wong Ketshin, as well as published by Joshua Maran.

The music video was directed by Alwyn Tay of Asa Esa Films and the dancers are from Zephyr and members of the Kuching Hearing Impaired Association, who also contributed to the making of this video with beautiful movements and hand sign language.
