KUCHING, Aug 21: AirBorneo today unveiled its official logo, “Wings of Unity”, marking a major milestone as the new airline prepares to begin operations in January 2026.
The ceremony, graced by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, showcased the airline’s brand identity and tagline, “Borneo For You”, which reflects its vision of purposeful travel, cultural celebration and bridging communities across continents.
In a press release, AirBorneo Holdings Sdn Bhd chairman and Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said the brand is aligned with the Premier’s vision for stronger regional connectivity, economic growth and cultural pride.
“The logo represents more than a design—it is in substance a promise to connect Borneo to the world, and the world to Borneo, with authenticity, inclusiveness and purpose,” he reportedly said.

Meanwhile, Abang Johari commended the initiative, describing the airline as a statement of confidence in Sarawak’s role in the global landscape.
He said AirBorneo will play a key role in supporting the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 through enhanced ASEAN air links, job creation, infrastructure improvements, SME support and economic growth.
AirBorneo will take over and expand services provided by MASwings, offering both full-service routes and essential Rural Air Services to remote communities.
The airline’s brand identity incorporates Sarawak’s colours and motifs to symbolise the region’s unity and diversity.
According to the brand narrative, the “Wings of Unity” design is inspired by the natural world and the cultural heartbeat of Sarawak.
It embodies the freedom and connection that define travel, while its flowing form reflects innovation and forward movement like a river creating new pathways across the skies.
“At its base, it is grounded in roots, a reminder of Sarawak’s heritage that shapes modern solutions, honouring the past whilst embracing the future.
“Together, these elements, drawn from nature, form a visual identity that speaks of harmony, resilience and progress—values at the core of AirBorneo,” the narrative reads.
Through this unveiling, AirBorneo aims to be more than just an airline, but a cultural bridge and storyteller of the skies—uniting heritage with modern aviation and carrying the pride of Borneo onto the global stage.
Also present were Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, and Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin. — DayakDaily
