KUCHING, May 1: AirBorneo has launched a festive promotion offering a 20 per cent discount on normal fares across all 21 destinations in its Rural Air Services (RAS) network, aimed at helping Sabahans and Sarawakians return home for the upcoming harvest festivals.
Dubbed the “Harvest in Unity” campaign, the initiative is designed to ease the “balik kampung” journey for those travelling to celebrate Pesta Kaamatan and Hari Gawai with their families in longhouses and villages across Borneo.
In a statement today, AirBorneo said the promotion reflects its role beyond transportation, serving as a vital link connecting communities, particularly in rural and interior areas.
The discounted fares are available for booking from May 1 to May 5, 2026, for travel between May 23 and June 7, 2026.
AirBorneo chief executive officer Megat Ardian Wira said the campaign underscores the deeper meaning of travel during the harvest season.
“For many of our passengers, these journeys are not merely about reaching a destination, but about reuniting with loved ones, sharing meals in longhouses, and preserving cultural traditions,” he said.
He added that the airline remains committed to ensuring reliable operations and consistent service throughout the festive period, as increased demand is expected.
“As we help our communities balik kampung, we are focused on maintaining dependable connectivity as a trusted backbone of regional travel for Sabah and Sarawak,” he said.
