KUCHING, April 12: AirAsia Sarawak Affairs head Hamdan Mohamad advises those intending to fly to their respective destinations for Hari Raya Adilfitri to book their tickets early as there is only a week to go.
He said there may still be some seats on offer still available.
“There is no problem, and we offer additional midnight flights during the festival to fly back to Kuching from Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. This flight route is not only to Kuching but also to fly to Sibu and Miri. This flight schedule is a week before and after the festival,” he told reporters during iftar session hosted by AirAsia Berhad for members of the media at a hotel here earlier tonight.
This was the first such session with the media by AirAsia since the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak.
Hamdan also advised that if there is still AirAsia flight tickets priced at RM199 on offer, travellers should book return tickets.
“I advise that you buy excess luggage (allowance) if you have a load and please do not overload yourself when travelling.
“Do come early to the airport so that you have a smooth journey,” he said.
Meanwhile, AirAsia also released a travel advisory for travellers in view of the expected heavy traffic at airports over the Hari Raya Aidilfitri period.
Among others, the airline advised travellers to perform self check-in via the airasia Super App which is available as early as 14 days to one hour before the scheduled departure time. Guests departing from 19 April 2023 can already self check-in now, and obtain their electronic Boarding Passes for their Hari Raya flights.
Travellers were also urged to arrive early at the airport—at least two hours earlier for domestic flights and three hours prior for international flights—to allow enough time for all the necessary travel processes during this peak travel period. The check counter will close one hour prior to the flight’s scheduled departure time at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) (Terminal 2) and 45 minutes prior to departure at other Malaysian airports for domestic flights. — DayakDaily
