KUCHING, Sept 25: Organiser Twig Events has reserved the right to pursue legal action, saying they were equally shocked by the abrupt cancellation of the Air Supply Kuching concert, as the appointed tour promoter, Galaxy World Entertainment Sdn Bhd, had not raised any operational concerns and all preparations had already been completed.
In a TVS Rebao news report, Twig Events’ event director Wong Ai Ning said the company only learned of the cancellation when Air Supply announced it on Facebook, describing the move as a devastating blow after months of meticulous planning.
She clarified that from the outset, Twig Events had no direct communication with Air Supply, but instead dealt solely with Galaxy World Entertainment, the official tour promoter under contract.
“As the organiser, our responsibility was to manage the venue, logistics and fan experience, while Galaxy World Entertainment was the contracted tour agent.
“At no point were we alerted to any issues, and everything from stage setup and sound systems to food stalls had already been fully arranged,” Wong said during a press conference at Blessed Church on Wednesday night (Sept 24).

She stressed that the last-minute cancellation was deeply disappointing not only to fans but also to Twig Events.
“We share the same shock and frustration. Everything was in place, yet the concert was cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control,” she added.
Twig Events assured that its immediate priority is to ensure all fans receive a full refund. Refunds have already been initiated through the original ticketing platform and are expected to be processed within 14 working days, with instructions sent to buyers via email.
The organiser has also filed a complaint with the Arts, Live Festival and Events Association (ALIFE) and called for clearer industry procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
It is understood that representatives from Galaxy World Entertainment have since arrived in Kuching to meet with Twig Events. Twig Events, however, emphasised that its foremost priority is to ensure all fans receive a full refund.
“Our foremost commitment is to safeguard fans’ trust and uphold the integrity of Sarawak’s live music scene. Despite this setback, we remain dedicated to bringing world-class live entertainment to Sarawak,” Wong said.
At 3.14am yesterday, Air Supply’s management announced via its official Air Supply Music social media page that the Kuching concert scheduled for that night had been cancelled due to “operational reasons” on the part of the promoter.
The management also stated that efforts are being made to reschedule the show and promised to update fans once a new date is confirmed.
In the comment section, Air Supply lead singer Russell C Hitchcock wrote: “We are working on a rescheduled date… we were ready and able to come and play for all our fans in Kuching … the cancellation had nothing to do with Air Supply … we are deeply saddened by this cancellation.” — DayakDaily
