KUCHING, April 4: An Aidilfitri gathering in Sibu, Sarawak brought together people of diverse backgrounds in a show of unity and togetherness, says Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
In a Facebook post today, he said the Majlis Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri 2026 held at Dewan Terbuka Masjid Darul Istiqamah, Jalan Sukun recently was more than just a festive occasion, highlighting the spirit of mutual respect and harmony among the community.
He noted that the presence of locals from different walks of life, gathered in one space with shared smiles, reflected Malaysia’s true identity where celebrations are embraced collectively.
“In Sibu, the spirit of neighbourliness and unity is strongly felt — from the greetings exchanged, shared laughter, to the warm hospitality that never fades,” he said.
Tiong also thanked the management committee of Masjid Darul Istiqamah, Jalan Sukun, for the invitation and warm reception.
