KUCHING, April 22: The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, and his wife, Toh Puan Ragad Kurdi Taib, met people from all walks of life during the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri today.
Members of the public came as early as 10am to the open house at Astana Negeri, where the couple arrived at 11am to greet them.
Apart from that, they also receive visits from various local associations and tourists from abroad.
Later in the afternoon, Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, also attended the open house after hosting their own at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
Among those present were Sarawak Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, and other Cabinet members. — DayakDaily
