SIBU, July 9: The vaccination centre (PPV) at Agape Centre will wrap up the Covid-19 vaccination programme this Sunday (July 11) covering a total of 1,500 recipients, who comprise people with disabilities, children with special needs and their parents.
Assistant Minister of Community Well-Being Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, who visited the centre today, said this PPV is one of those which would help the State achieved herd immunity against the coronavirus by August.
“They had done the first dose. From today until Sunday they will cover the second dose. With this cooperation, we can speed up the vaccination programme for people with disabilities and those from the six associations in Agape plus their parents,” he said.
Francis was shown round the centre by Sibu Association For Children with Special Needs (Agape) chairperson Datuk Janet Lau and secretary Dr Toh Teck Hock during his visit.
“So we hope Agape can help us speed up the vaccination programme so that we can complete it by August.
“I must thank Datuk Janet and Dr Toh for working very closely not only for this vaccination programme but also to give other services to children with special needs and disability,” he added. — DayakDaily
