KUCHING, Dec 15: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an advisory notice, alerting residents in six districts — Kapit, Song, Bukit Mabong, Bintulu, Tatau, and Sebauh — to expect thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds until 5pm today.
MetMalaysia specified that a thunderstorm warning is issued when there are indications of a thunderstorm with a rainfall intensity of more than 20mm/hour, either occurring or expected to persist for more than an hour.
This thunderstorm warning is a short-term alert valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
