KUCHING, Nov 25: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to occur in 15 districts in Sarawak until 7pm today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in an advisory issued at 4pm today, the affected districts are Kuching, Serian, Tebedu, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Pakan, Julau, Sibu, Kanowit, Kapit, Song, Miri, Telang Usan, and Limbang.
The department said that a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with an intensity of rain exceeding 20mm/hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
