KUCHING, April 6: Thunderstorm alerts have been issued for 13 districts throughout Sarawak until 4pm today.
Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in an advisory notice issued at 1.55pm, said the affected districts are Sibu, Selangau, Mukah, Matu, Dalat, Kapit, Song, Belaga, Bintulu, Miri, Subis, Marudi, and Limbang.
The department also said that anticipated weather conditions include heavy rain and strong winds.
According to the MetMalaysia, a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-team warning valid for a maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
