ACD in Rh Nugu, Rh Manggang after Covid-19 cases increase in Sarikei

SARIKEI, April 28: Active case detection (ACD) operations were carried out at Rumah Nugu and Rumah Manggang in Kerubong near Jalan Sarikei-Selalang yesterday following an increase in Covid-19 cases in Sarikei.

The operation was carried out by Sarikei Division Disaster Management Committee (Sarikei DDMC) and the Division Health Office.

ACD operations were also carried out at Rumah Puin and Rumah Meringai in the same area.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), a lockdown order has yet to be imposed on the longhouses.

However, the Ministry of Health (MOH) advised and urged all residents in the involved longhouses to observe self-quarantine and not to go out if not necessary.

Following this, Assistant Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datu Len Talif Salleh also advised and reminded local communities in Kuala Rajang and Sarawakians in general to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) strictly, and to protect themselves and their families as well as the environment.

Len Talif, who is also the Kuala Rajang assemblyman, emphasised that self-discipline is very important to help Sarawak break the chain of Covid-19 infections. — DayakDaily
