KUCHING, June 17: Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) hopes the Sarawak government will continue to support and help local companies and businesses, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), get back on their feet during the economic recovery phase.

ACCCIS president Dato Tan Jit Kee conveyed this wish when paying a courtesy call on Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at the latter’s office here yesterday (June 16).

In a press release today, Tan said that the delegation from ACCCIS has discussed with Awang Tengah, who is also a Minister for International Trade and Investment, the current economic situation and challenges faced by the large business community in Sarawak.

“It was a fruitful meeting, and every deserving issue raised was given immediate and positive feedback.

“ACCCIS will continue to work closely with the Sarawak government, including its departments and agencies, for the common good of our economy,” he said.

The ACCCIS delegation comprised vice president Kueh Eng Mong, secretary-general Dato Jonathan Chai Voon Tok and Digital Economy Committee chairman Rodger Chan. — DayakDaily
